Most unis will accept psychology alevel for pharmacy (not sure about optometry), they normally ask for chemistry alevel and two sciences (biology can sometimes also be required depending on the uni) and psychology is classed as a science, all unis i’ve looked at accepted psychology alevel just as long as it reached entry requirements

Most (if not all) unis only need chemistry and 1 other science/maths? Pretty sure they don't care that much about your third A-level

What pharmacy related opportunities are there to do to include in personal statement?

online work experience / pharmacy related articles / irl work experience if you can find (not needed) / volunteering

Hi @User0728837

Here at the University of Nottingham we accept Psychology as your third A-level as long as you have Chemistry and another science A-level (Maths, biology, physics). Once you apply, you'll need the grades and pass the interview component to get a place!

Here is our page

Most universities are the same, so hopefully you'll be able to find more to apply to as well!

Hope this helps, if you have any other questions please ask!

hi, my predicted grades are abb which i understand is lower than some uni's requirements but what are my chances of getting a conditional offer at manchester, notts, or birmingham, which all have a requirement of aab? i have relevant work experience at a pharmacy and volunteering at a care home and my gcses are 6s - 7s.

Would you meet the criteria for a contextual offer?
If not I would be very doubtful of you getting an offer if your predicted grades don't meet the requirements. I would look at courses where ABB is their standard requirement

unfortunately i don't meet any criteria for a contextual offer, however on the uni of manchester's website it did say they MAY consider an applicant whose predictions are ABB, which brings some light into the situation but i know theres a chance they'll still reject me.
thanks for answering my question anyway 🙂

It's fine to have one aspirational uni from your five choices. You could apply to just one choice now and see what response you get and then add your remaining choices by the January deadline.
