What to wear to a university welcome week party?

Hey everyone - I was wondering if anyone has any advice on what to wear to a university welcome week party? I don’t usually go to this sort of thing so I have no idea what to wear. I was to make sure I don’t overdress/ underdress so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Generally, though it is just casual clothes - e.g. jeans and a top.

Hey Matt. I don’t think it specifically has a theme, and it’s only being held in one of the university buildings, so casual sounds like the way to go! Thanks for your help!

I would recommend to wear something you feel comfortable and confident in. At university, you'll see people wearing a variety of outfits, from hoodies to dresses. So don't worry about this too much!

If the party is during the day, generally people would wear casual clothes. If the party is during the evening or night, you can dress up a little depending on the location and theme (if any).

Hiya!

Some great advice on here which I would defo second 🙂 just thought I'd also add that as uni is the perfect place to express yourself and find out more about who you want to be, wear something which you feel confident and happy in which matches your personality. I had a friend who wore a bright rainbow jumper to a freshers party, another who wore her Iron Maiden T shirt, another who went for jeans and a plain tee. Something comfy which expresses the you you want to be!
