I'm currently entering my third year of University doing English Language and Literature - and I received an offer to do a part-time job relevant to my degree for a small construction company, writing for tender-bids and their website and eventually I will do more construction-centric in-office errands.
I'm really happy at my job and what I do, my boss has offered me to pay for and get me some more relevant qualifications while I stay and work for his company. Overall this has been one of the most positive working environments I have ever been in, and I feel content.
However, I'm still aware that there may be something bigger waiting for me after Graduation - and this is where my anxiety kicks in:
I want to wait a year until I apply to graduate schemes, just to see where my current job takes me, but I have seen posts on this website and, after a person waits a year to re-apply - they are suddenly not eligible even if they are a semi-recent graduate (given that most I see are from the tech industry which is a whole can of worms in of itself).
My question is: will I be okay to wait a year before I apply and take another step? Google and multiple blog-sites say yes as apparently Grad Schemes allow for people up to 2+ years graduation to apply.
Just want to know some thoughts.
