LNAT candidates 2024 (for 2025 entry)

Hi guys I haven't seen an LNAT threat for 2025 entry yet, so I thought I would make one so we can all discuss revision / preparation etc!

How is everyone feeling for the exam, when is your test date and what uni's are you applying to?)

I’m also applying to study law this year (for 2025 entry)! My LNAT preparation has been going decently. I’m aiming for a score above 28 on the MCQ section and a decent essay score. I’m more worried about my MCQ performance than the essay, as my practice essays have been good so far. I’m using The Ultimate LNAT Guide and free practice papers for revision going forward. I was using Arbitio alongside these resources, but I’ve decided to stop using it, as I don’t want to fall into the trap of answering questions how Arbitio wants you to in the real thing. My test date is set for early October and I’ll be applying to Cambridge and Bristol as my LNAT choices

I'm a gap year student re-applying to uni, and I'm aiming for a similar score! I'm nervous for the MCQ's as well, as they can be very varied + I found them so difficult last year!

Good luck - I’m sure you’ll do great! One of the practice tests I completed on the LNAT website was also really varied in terms of question difficulty, which is why I used a range of easier and harder resources to best prepare myself for every eventuality.

I'm also applying for law this year! I'm a bit anxious for the exam as I think Oxford value the essay highly, but my preparation's going well so far. My test date is 18th September and I'll be applying for Oxford, Bristol, and Durham as my LNAT choices

Hi ya'll. I do Econ, English lit and psych. Hoping to get into oxford but I'm not complaining if any university take me! Aiming for a 25, happy with a 22 though.
Good luck to all my fellow aspiring law students! We've got this!

honestly the word count was the hardest part for me it said that in no circumstance should i go over 750 and to stick to around 500-600 but i defo went over 750 so i spent the last 2 minutes stress cutting excess words loll but the essay honestly went pretty well i enjoyed it! plus the topics were stuff i already had basic knowledge or opinions on so i wasn't too stressed! the topics were also stuff that was at least in some way already being circulated in the media so it wasn't totally out of the blue

I’m so scared for the lnat (the mcq specifically) so if anyone has any tips or helpful websites please share! I’m holding off on doing the one practice test on the official website until it’s closer to my test date (9th November). I’m applying to UCL and Kings for my unis requiring the lnat and York, Nottingham and Leeds that don’t require it.

If you aren’t already, have a look at the practice books on amazon. They have been really useful for me as they include explanations for the MCQs!

ugh it feels so good to have it done and out of the way i was insanely stressed beforehand.
the essay questions were (nd im paraphrasing here it may not be exact) should women have a predetermined percentage of seats in the legislature, should private schools be disallowed, and is capital punishment justifiable in certain circumstances ( i did this one) and for passages there was one on quantum computers, one on grammar, one on political correctness, one on teenage rebellion or the lack thereof, and tbh my mind is going blank after that lol but id say the passages wern't very stem centred which i was really worried about
aah ty! im sure youll do great too xx

Hey, I actually gave my LNAT too and my essay questions were nothing like yours lol. Also I had the horrible misfortune of getting a couple Math questions. I wonder if they have a wider pool of questions from which they try and give each student different combinations.
Btw I'm applying to Oxford, Kings, LSE, UCL and Nottingham

they do have a large pool of extracts and essays to randomise it. How did you find the exam?
MCQ was quite tough, the first passage was this one on WHSmith and it was SO DENSE that I just couldn't make head or tail of it. I had high expectations cos of my mocks so was a bit let down but my essay went exceptionally well so not worried.
Fun fact: I actually quoted utilitarianism in my essay and it is going to be read by UCL which was founded by Jeremy Bentham- the father of utilitarianism lol
