Welcome Week at BCU

Welcome week is the very first week you spend at university this year it starts on the 16th September. Here are some of my favourite things I did during welcome week:

I spent time getting to know my flatmates, including going out to some of the official BCUSU parties and also staying in the flat.

I visited the welcome fair. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the different societies, buy a cheap Domino’s pizza and get some freebies from different businesses.

I had a few days timetabled in university. For my course, this involved meeting lots of the lecturers, finding out more about the course and meeting the people in my teaching group.

When I did not have anything scheduled, I explored the area as I was new to Birmingham. This included visiting Bullring to buy some of the things that I had forgotten to bring with me!

Starting university can be scary, however it is really important during welcome week that you put yourself out there to try new things and meet lots of new people!
