Anyone regret picking quiet/alcohol free accommodation?

I recently booked my accommodation as a quiet/alcohol free option but I am regretting it now. My original reasoning was me being worried I would get really rowdy flatmates and it would affect me academically but realistically that wouldn’t even be that big of a problem as I could just wear earplugs if they’re being loud or go to the library. I’m worried that I’m just going to have a boring time at uni now and not do anything fun. It also doesn’t help that I couldn’t have much of a life during sixth form as I lived quite far away and had to commute which took a while.

I'm sure you'll be fine! Your flatmates may not be the partying type but they may still want do loads of different things (going out exploring etc).

The thing is I actually found out I like partying and drinking it’s just that I’d prefer it to not happen in the accommodation. Like I don’t mind going out to pubs or clubbing but when I get home I just want a good night’s rest.

Okay so I would either:

1) Play it by ear when you get there - it might just be that you don't go out partying with your flatmates and you go with other people you've met up with etc.

2) Possibly move flats if that's an option?

That’s
what I thought about as well the only thing I’m worried about is that some flatmates may not like me coming back drunk even though I have an en suite and everything so they won’t have to deal with me vomiting on the toilet or something like that lol. The contract also doesn’t explicitly state that drinking isn’t allowed it’s just not allowed in the accommodation but I still don’t want to create an unpleasant environment for the other flatmates. Do you think people will care that I drink outside a non alcohol flat as long as I don’t bother them

About the room swap I think there are only a few spots available but you need a really valid reason to switch and to be fair I don’t think this is one. It is possible to swap flats with someone else I think but that all depends on whether someone actually wants to.

mm that's true, which is why it's probably best to play it by ear and see when you meet your flatmates

or for swapping, I think it could be a valid reason. It doesn't hurt to ask.
