Ucat help!!!?!?!

I am writing my UCAT on the 23rd of September.
And my scores and consecutively really bad, I am just making it past the 2000 and just about a Band 2.
No matter how much practice I do on a specific section it always goes worse and I don’t why.
DM and VR are the ones I always get so bad in it’s acc so annoying because my UCAT is so soon, and this will literally even out all my bad grades so I can have a chance at medicine.
PLEASE I NEED SOME TIPS AND HELP

DM practise venn diagrams as much as you can as they always come up. also learn how convert fractions into percentages and vice versa for the last few questions.
VR skip the 4 scans questions and leave them to last, answer the true/false/can't tell questions first WITH accuracy. don't have to understand the passage for true false questions as you can quickly scan using a keyword from the question.
interpretation requires some understanding so try to form a sentence summary of each paragraph after reading.
do as many mocks as you can, atleast 1 a day leading upto the exam and always thoroughly review mistakes, the more u review mistakes the less likely u are to make them again

THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS WAS GENUINELY SO HELPFUL !! What did you mean by the 4 scan questions though ?

hey i got 3200 in my ucat last month and i recommend doing a mock everyday until your exam (with no distractions) and remember to review your mistakes and keep practicing the question types that you are weak on. i think staying calm during the ucat is key to scoring well so don’t skip the one minute in between each subtest, use that minute to breathe and focus on the next section.
for vr try aiming to answer the 4 questions for each passage in 2 minutes, if that doesn’t work out then try to answer around 32-36 questions correctly and guess the rest. i scanned the question for key words then scanned the passage to find those words, also when scanning for key words i would quickly read over the paragraphs and sum them up so i would know where to look for future questions about the passage.
for dm spend about a minute on each question except for evaluating arguments and probability questions (you should be answering these in around 30 seconds so you have more time to answer long syllogisms and logic puzzles). for most logic puzzles i found two way tables to be really helpful, but bear in mind you don’t need to work out every single piece of info from the puzzle, sometimes you can find an answer by eliminating the other options and that saves time. for longer syllogisms i looked at the question before looking at the text/tables/charts and found that to be quicker than reading the questions afterwards.
band 2 sjt is really good so keep aiming for that! let me know if you have any questions

I just did a mock today I got 2110 and a band 2, I am improving compared to my other mocks but just by a little and I don’t have much time as well.
And my marks are not consistent they change all the time, I do better in AR once and DM worst and now it’s the opposite I don’t even know what section I find hard anymore.
But thank you so much for the tips.
I think QR is my worst though the questions are so unpredictable and I’m so lazy to look at the explanations because they just don’t make sense.
I think the thing is, is that I don’t take time to review my answers I just skim past them but I’ll take that into account now!!
Thank you

i understand this, i used medify and to the people i spoke to who also used medify we all went up by at least 300 in our actual ucat compared to our mocks so don’t give up and be consistent in your revision

for qr i recommend to definitely try and brush up on your gcse maths (like i forgot how to do percentage change at the start of my revision and it comes up quite a lot), see what type of calculations/questions you get wrong often (speed, probability, money, etc) and practice them a lot but stick with timed practice.

dont put pressure on yourself if u see a bad score on your mock, just go over your mistakes and try again. u still have over a week so u can definitely get your score up by then, good luck!! x

also when i did my revision i used youtube a lot, there are so many good ucat videos on there. i recommend watching emil eddy, he scored super high on his ucat and by watching his walkthroughs u can see how he approaches the questions and his thought process and u can try to use the same techniques

Thank you so much, I’ll definitely take that approach. And I’ll watch the YouTube videos too.
Thank you so much once again this was genuinely so helpful 💞

Hi, Im in the same situation as you and my UCAT is in less than a week so I’m STRESSED. alot of people are saying that they did get higher than their medify mocks but I’m scared it won’t be high enough even alongside that😕.

No honestly I just did a mock and I got just about 1900, I just don’t know what to do, I feel so helpless in this sit. But I’m sure you will smash it.

I wouldn’t know I use Medify too 😔 but I think Medify underscores us to get us ready, but it makes me feel so bummy after.
Maybe passmedicine is a bit nicer with scoring might have to do that too cause I am cooked…..When is your exam ?

hey I have already done my UCAT exam and honestly it was so terrifying and horrific, I hate the exam and how it is down to pure luck on what types of questions u get, I found the experience most similar to medify and they were the most accurate in predicting my 'average' score, I'm pretty disappointed with my score at 2510 however am thrilled with band 1 in STJ, wish u best of luck for 23rd and let me know how u do once u have done the exam!

omg hi congratulations for the band 1 in SJT thats so hard to achieve. You can still apply to some med unis with ur score so hopefully its all good !! My UCAT is very soon and I am so scared. According to your mocks and your real exam was there a significant differwnce or was it pretty much the same?

I found loads of free tips and tricks in the medentio discord server it really helped
Hey, I'm in a very similar situation, my exam is on the 25th. I'm losing my sanity a little more each day. I genuinely feel so lost at this point and absolutely terrified. This isn't my first time, it's actually my fourth attempt at the UCAT and I'm 28. I don't have any do-overs left. I would appreciate any tips, or study methods. I've been using Medify the whole time. I've done 9 Medify mocks and 1 UCAT official mock. Literally, any advice would be so helpful.
