Hello, apologies for the delay in replying! This is the University of Aberdeen rep account. Confirmation emails have only just started going out this week to applicants of all subjects. You should hopefully have recieved one already or will be getting one in the next week, and sorry for any worry caused in the meantime.

I haven’t applied yet but like the look of Aberdeen for psychology. I’m in England, and wondering what the quota for uk students is compared to Scottish and international, can anyone help? I don’t want to waste a choice if my odds are too low!

Hi, apologies for not getting back to you about this until now. This is the University of Aberdeen rep account and thank you for your interest in studying with us! I don't believe we have a quota of this sort with most of our degrees (Medicine and Dentistry have certain numbers we need to adhere to) and even if there are numbers that we do need to stick to there are still a significant number of students that come to study with us from the rest of the UK. If you give us an email on [email protected] we may be able to get you some more information on specifics but I can assure you that it's still well worth applying if you have the grades we're looking for. Psychology has gone into clearing in previous years meaning that we still have spaces come August time, and so it's not in such high demand that you should be concerned about wasting a choice if you're interested in us and you have/are projected to get the entry requirements. I really hope that helps, and if you have any more questions about Aberdeen let us know!

Hi all, just wanted to post in here to let you know that after today the University of Aberdeen will be closed for two weeks for the winter break, returning on the 6th January. Please be assured that if you get in contact with us or are in contact with us already that we will be looking to reply to you as soon as we can after we're back.
We have quite a lot of information on our degrees on your website here: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/
And some more information about Aberdeen and the university here: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/about/

You can either leave questions in this thread or email [email protected] for us to answer you once we're back.

Wishing you all the best with making your applications, but try not to overthink it too much over the break whether you've made your application yet or not. If you feel you need to work on it then go ahead but don't spend your whole time off on it as there's still time in the new year before UCAS's deadline on 29th January. I hope you can all take some time to appreciate the work you've done so far, get some rest over the winter break, and have a happy Hogmanay when it comes!

Hi all, I applied for Language and Linguistics, French and Language & Linguistics, and English Language and Literature at Aberdeen for 2025. I was wondering if anyone had recieved offers for these courses yet? I didn't apply until a few days before the Christmas Holiday, and so I could just be lower in the 'pile', but several people I know have recieved offers for unrelated courses at Aberdeen. Thanks!

Hii, has anyone heard back for Philosophy, Politics and Economics yet?

Reply 8

Any English students heard back from any of the Law courses yet?

Hi,
I have filled out all the required information in my CAS Shield account, but I don’t see any “submit” button or anything similar. Should I just leave it as it is, or is there anything else I need to do?

Hi all, hope you're all enjoying your summer and looking forward to university in September! I just wanted to post in here about an event some of our Law faculty are running called Law taster: could artificial intelligence (AI) predict crime? https://www.unifrog.org/events/upcoming/1449-law-taster-could-artificial-intelligence-ai-predict-crime

Dr Lizzie Tiarks will be taking us through the applications and legal implications of a world that increasingly uses AI. It's a good chance to get a taster of the sorts of things which you will be able to explore in your studies and careers in Law, and can provide some inspiration for what you may like to specialise in as you progress through your degree.

We'll likely be running more of these webinars in future, and if you sign up to UniFrog I believe you get access to webinars that have been run in the past including our one titled "Law taster: what happens if you break the law in space?" which was very interesting! I hope this is of interest to some of you and if you have any more questions on studying with us please just ask.
