How to tackle y13

I’ve just started y13 and wanted to know how I should be working this year. I didn’t do amazingly in my mocks getting A*CC and want to get AAB-ABB in my actual alevels. What should I be doing revision wise and how do I manage keeping on top of y12 content?
Cheers.

Make sure you are regularly revising (i.e. several times a week) your y12 content, alongside y13 content and use revision strategies that work for you. I found using past papers and flashcards were really helpful for my revision.

Hi Anon,

For both Y12 and Y13, I devised a revision schedule which would mirror my actual timetable in college. I would revise for subjects I had that day in college, and I would go over the topics we learnt in class that day as well. This would all happen at home, where I would refine any notes I made prior in class, and attempt topical past paper questions to try apply the knowledge I've just covered. By doing this, I noticed that I memorised the content much longer.

The most important thing is to stay consistent throughout your entire course and to equally dedicate sufficient revision time across all your subjects. I can't emphasise how important and useful past papers are. There's a reason why past papers are the top revision tip, because they help out tons!

Hope this helps,
Danish
