Anyone else doing the access to engineering diploma with learn direct?
Pretty much as the title says, what unis are you applying to and what course. Does anyone know how they calculate predicted grades?

I just enrolled last week and I’m planning to study Physics BSc. I’m also unsure which universities to apply to. I’m not sure how they calculate predicted grades either, but I’ve heard you need to complete up to Unit 6 or 9 before you get them. Can anyone confirm?

I contacted the ucas advisor and they said that it’s basically a projection from the first three graded assignments. So if you get three distinctions, you will be predicted all distinctions, if you get a pass, a merit and a distinction you’ll be predicted 15 credits at pass, 15 at distinction and 15 at merit. If you want to talk about the course at all I’ve passed the first unit, submitted the second and done all the assignment work up to unit 7. How old are you if you don’t mind me asking?

Hey, thanks for the info it’s really helpful! Yeah, I’d love to talk more about the course. I’m 19 and I’ve passed the first two units.

Oh cool I’m 19 as well, I’ll be 20 when I start uni. It’s reassuring to see another younger person doing the course.

Yeah I’ll be 20 when I start uni too and yh it’s so cool to find someone my age, I thought it would be difficult.

has anyone here gotten up to unit 17? im kinda stuck with both 15 and 17 and in order to get distinctions (required for my course requirements in uni) i would need to get full marks on both units.

Hi, I know its been a while since this was posted but I'm in exactly the same position you were a year ago. I really want to go to uni next year and am looking to do the learn direct engineering access course. How was it and did you go to uni? And what are the deadlines for the predicted grades from ucas? tysm if you can help
