The Student Room Group

i don’t know what to do

i recently started at a mainstream college ( I previously attended a different type due to mental health) i really thought i could handle it but I’ve been so overwhelmed even though I’ve only done 2 days. the teachers i have are literally just cruel , they talk **** about multiple students In front of the class and nit pick over the smallest things just to scream at someone. I can already tell they aren’t going to be very understanding and I don’t want to make myself feel worst by staying. I’m thinking of doing an online college called open study college from what I’ve read it sounds perfect for me but I feel as though everyone is going to be incredibly disappointed in me if I quit the college I’m currently attending. I understand it has nothing to do with them but I know it will affect me regardless.
Hi There

We hear that you have recently started college but your first couple of days have felt overwhelming. We are wondering if you have been able to talk to anyone about how this is impacting you right now. This could be with a Friend, Family Member or a Tutor at college. It is great to hear that you have already thought through what your study options are but often talking about how you feel with someone that you trust can help to navigate these feelings 🫶

You have done really well to use this space to be honest about how you are feeling. If you are feeling like suicide is an option right now then you can call Hopeline247 on 0800 068 4141 or Text us on 88247 to speak with a trained Suicide Prevention Adviser who will be more than happy to help 💟
