Student finance/ nhs bursary

Hi, can some one please help me!!
I found out today I got approved for the NHS bursary - £4,735 annually.

Am I right in thinking £1000 is non deductable grant and the other £3,735 is my bursary? I have children and provided proof but dont think I'm entitled to the dependants allowance. My partner works full time too and we recieve universal credit.

Also, now I've tried to also apply for the maintenance loan - I am eligible for 12,712 but with being on universal credit - will they just take the full amount off me? I've seen that universal credit take loans pound for pound and even if you dont apply for it they still deduct it - so u feel forced into applying for it to be deducted - is this correct?

This is what is on the NHS Bursary website for 2023-24, so it does look like your bursary is £3,735 (presumably adjusted for 24/25).

Non means tested bursary
The 2023 to 2024 rate is £1,000 for all students.

Means tested bursary
The 2023 to 2024 rates are:
up to £3,191 if your university is in London and you do not live in your parental home
up to £2,643 if your university is outside of London and you do not live in your parental home
up to £2,207 regardless of university location if you live in your parental home

I think that you are only eligible for the reduced maintenance loan with the NHS Bursary:
