🪴1st year of a levels GYG🪴

Hiiiiii!

I'm H and I've seen a couple other people doing these and it looked fun so I thought I might give it a go

I've just went into y12 and I'm studying Computer Science, Maths and Further Maths at a level. With the hopes of going onto study computing at Uni or doing a degree apprenticeship around computer science or cyber security.

My goals for this year are:
🌺Stay on top of all my work and subjects
🌻Revise little and often
🌼Do well in the y12 mocks at the end of the year
🌷Start/Continue to lead a couple clubs
🪻Become more confident when asking for help
🌹Have fun!

So please comment if you have any tips or if you need any advice and who knows I might update this every so often.

Heyyy! Please do steal goals, hopefully we can all grow together!!!
With starting clubs, it depends a lot on how clubs tend to be run at your school, but my general advice would be to do something your interested in, and then find a teacher (either someone related by subject or just a teacher you like) to supervise it. After that you may need to email someone to check that your all okay to start running it, then if you have like a weekly bulletin try and advertise in that or just put a couple posters up to get people interested. I hope this helps, please ask if anything doesn't make sense or need anymore advice <3

Hey H! 👋 Your goals for this year sound awesome and really well-rounded! Staying on top of work and revising regularly will definitely pay off, especially with subjects like Computer Science and Maths. Don’t hesitate to ask for help when needed—everyone’s there to support you! Good luck with leading the clubs and crushing those Y12 mocks. And yes, definitely have fun along the way! 🌟

So, I guess this is something I'm thinking of updating now so here's this weeks update! It's been officially a week since going back to school and starting lessons and this feels like the most productive back to school week I've had, I've managed to:
🌺Actually keep up the back to school motivation and keep the good habits everyone tells you to have - like I've actually been packing my bag the night before and doing my homework when I get it, which is pretty incredible cause I thought it was a myth that people did that.
🌻Use my frees productively - I feel really proud of myself, because I'm actually working during my frees and I've been really good at self motivating, which is something I never thought I'd say!
🌼Go above and beyond, both academically and personally - I've completed the optional question sets in maths and further maths, as well as taking on more reasonability in the anti-bullying ambassadors. Me and my friend have also sorted out the club we're (hopefully) running so now we're just waiting for confirmation before we start it
🌷Take part in more things - I've signed myself up for being active in a house competition that I usually do (which I and everyone I know is insanely excited for so be prepared to hear my about it over the next couple weeks), as well as offering to come in on Monday to help with a y6 entrance test (grammar school) whilst everyone else has the day off.
🪻Set up a productive year for myself - I've sorted out how I'm sorting my notes for maths and further maths, as well as getting rid of some of my old notes that I probably should have gotten rid of during the summer. Still need to sort out how I'm filing and storing my computing notes - I assume I'll do them in a similar way to at GSCE - but that's a job for next weeks update.
🌹Have fun! - I spent one of my frees playing GUBs (card game) with my friends which whilst it wasn't the most productive, it was an incredible reward for working hard in my last couple frees. As well as just enjoying chatting to my friends now that we're all back in school.

This was a pretty big update for this week however, like I said it's been a pretty productive week. Most weeks will probably be much smaller however that might allow me to go into greater depth about a couple things I do. I thinking I'll probably update this on Thursday's purely cause I have a full day of lessons on Friday, so this lets my end of the week update not be overshadowed by the masses of homework I'll probably get given tomorrow. I hope you enjoyed this, if anyone actually ends up reading it, and if I keep doing it I'll see you next Thursday!

P.s Thankyou for all the lovely messages on my first post, their manly the reason I'm ending up posting this (along side the idea of being able to look back and remember everything I've done this year). You guys are the best <3

Hi Everyone!

Another week down and I'm back for another weekly update, (12-19 September). So, this week's been really good if not also very busy. I've been enjoying my time back at school though and I feel like I'm fully back into the swing of term time. So here is my weekly update:

🌺I'm still up to date - I've been feeling really good as most days, I've come home and been able to do at least a little bit of work. Plus with how many emails I've been receiving/sending (generally finding that crazy, responsibilities go up so much in six form), I've had to be checking it everyday. But yeah, I'm basically completely update with maths, and computing and I'm going to do further maths tonight to make sure I'm up to date before tomorrows onslaught of work.
🌻Fun stuff - I've still been able to go out with friends and last Saturday, me and my friend went out to the cinema to see the recording of "Prima Facie" (Jodie Comer) and I generally sobbed through out all of it - it is NOT for the week hearted.
🌼Helped out for the entrance test on Monday - I generally has so much fun, and I'm so glad I signed up for it. I mainly just had a free day to chat to my friend cause we were only needed when the y6s has breaks but it was really nice to have a day of work and just do side quests through out the day.
🌷Stayed after school on Wednesday to do tech for a music thing - this was really lovely as it gave me the opportunity to re-familiarise myself with a couple things on the tech balcony along side watching my friends sing, which was really lovely o listen to.
🪻I've been okay with all my lessons this week - maths and further maths keep setting us a bunch of work but like I said earlier I've been keeping up with it okay
🌹Learned about learning - we've has a bunch of assemblies and things about learning this week so hopefully I can take some advice and do well :🙂

So that was this week, plus I'm pretty much recovered from a cold I've had so now I just need to make sure I keep the motivation up, don't sign myself for too much, or burn out. But this has been really good for making sure I'm doing work so I have something to say every Thursday! I'll probably update this next week but we'll see how I do

Hey guys

So this post is called, sometimes change is good. This week I changed my one of my options from further maths to sociology, which I'm really excited for. I find sociology really interesting and whilst I'm not the best at writing essays, a break from the maths and what will soon be a computing NEA probably isn't a bad thing. So I'll be excited to see how that goes. And along with it here are other exciting things that happened this week:
🌺I had a baseline computing assessment and I feel like I did alright
🌻I had successful swapped subjects and caught up on the work and I'm feeling good about it!
🌼I've sorted my application to a outside course to go along side my a levels that I'm really excited about, so wish me look to get onto it!
🌷I've been working on the theatre tech for a house event which I'm really pleased with how its going, and I'm excited for it to go ahead!!!
🪻I've signed up to help with an afterschool parents evening type event, which should be really cool!
🌹My first club I attend has started back and I'm keeping up my excitement for the school year and I think life is going well.

So whilst this is a shorter and less busy week next week will be pretty jam packed so come back for a (hopefully) continuing blog which will probably be changed to up date on a Friday

Thankyou! I'm really pleased with the flowers and the formatting!!! Sociology has been so interesting, I'm glad your enjoying it too
Another week down! This weeks once again seems to have been incredibly busy - but I'm hoping life will slow down soon. Here is my weekly update (30/9 - 4/10).
🌺I had the senior maths challenge this week and I think it went alright! But honestly it could come back with any score so I'll be excited to see what I get
🌻I helped with an afterschool, "meet the tutor" event and whilst my feet killed at the end of the night, it was a really fun event and it was really chill directing parents and making teas and coffees. So I really enjoyed it
🌼PICTURE DAY!!! We got our six form pictures and I managed to come out with a pretty alright photo - which is probably the best you can come out with. So, I'm really pleased!
🌷I submitted finished and submitted the application to an outside course that I'm really hopeful I get onto, so wish me luck
🪻I've written a prefect application for computing so now I just need to check it and submit it and that should also be good to go!
🌹I've finished programming the theatre tech for the house event, which is on Tuesday and I'm really excited for

Next week, we have house event and clubs will go into full swing so hopefully good news will come from that. Hopefully I'll remember to update next Friday instead of doing it on Saturday like this week.
