Occupational Therapy at Bournemouth University, how is it?

How was it like studying in BU as an OT student. Did you feel prepared for your job and was the course helpful.

All OT courses are approved by the HCPC and must meet certain standards. Your degree will include course work and placements and fully prepare you to enter the NHS as an OT when you graduate.

Hi @ghlgyuygtyu78,

Great to hear you’re starting to think about your university journey.
I'm Q, I study Media Production at Bournemouth University.

Although I study Media Production and don’t have direct experience with the Occupational Therapy program, I can share some helpful resources for you:
You can check out the Occupational Therapy course page for a breakdown of the units you’ll study, contact hours, and assessment methods, in the 'Course details' section.
On the side of the course page, there’s a section called 'Occupational Therapy at BU' where you can read about current students' experiences. This might give you valuable insights into how well the program prepares students for their careers.

I’d also suggest booking an Open Day to get a firsthand look at the facilities and speak to faculty members. This can give you a better sense of the program and how it aligns with your career goals.

I hope this helps - let me know if you have any further questions!

Hi! I've just graduated from doing OT in Bournemouth this year!

I rly enjoyed the course overall and the placements were so helpful! I completed 3 placements, one every year and got to learn so many practical skills.

The lecturers were all really helpful and the units of work we covered were so interesting! (Plus the support and community within Bournemouth has been great for me especially as I moved away from home to go to uni)

Feel free to message me if you have any questions 🙂
