This is the thread for people who are thinking of applying to Cumbria for 2025!

Meet and chat to other people applying here.

Here are a few suggested opening questions, but ask whatever you want regarding Cumbria.

1) What A Levels are you doing (or other eligible qualifications)?
2) What course at Cumbria do you have your eyes on? And why?
3) What grades did you get/are you predicted to get at GCSE and Sixth Form?
4) Why Cumbria specifically?
5) Which admissions tests do you have to sit if any, and when will you start preparing for them?
6) Will you be attending any Open Days?
7) How are you feeling about starting University?
8) Other unis you're interested in?

biology,psychology and film studies

wildlife media because i do photography as a hobby and it combines my interests

CCC

it is the only one i could find that did the course

i submitted a portfolio and had an online interveiw

did the open day and offer holder day

very nervous

hiya! i'm sophie, just looking to make some friends who are also studying in carlisle :smile:

psychology, sociology, computer science

psychology (with counselling, but i might ask to switch to pure psychology... we'll see!)

predicted 3 As but with how exams are going probably more like BBC atm!!

not built for the city life... i get v distressed by all the people and noise, carlisle seemed a lot more quiet and like a much better fit for me :smile:

a-levels, i'm not sure exactly when i started preparing though

already have attended an open day

SO NERVOUS OH MY GOD!!

already firmed cumbria so idk if this one really applies, but my reserve is northumbria

if anyone fancies a yap message me!! it would be awesome to start uni knowing there's a few familiar faces there. :smile:

might be worth mentioning i've gone for carrock halls accomodation-wise, trembling in my boots after reading the reviews though...

hey!! i got in so im happy🙂 hope you did well too!! zoology genuinely sounds so fun, if i hadn’t gone for psychology and i had more experience i would’ve loved to do smth with animals🙂 what accom are you in?😀
