Student Loan - eligible or not

Hi, back in 2020 I started a foundation degree course but dropped it for personal reasons before the first year was over. I am now looking to start in February 2025 a Bachelor of Law (honours) (LLB) at The Open University, I would like to know if I'm still eligible to get a loan or not. I did around 5/6 months of the previous course. Also I'd like to know if this will impact a chance to get a loan for a postgraduate course in the future.

Hi, yes that was the only study I've done at a degree-level.

Hi, it was full time. I did not receive any qualifications as I dropped it before the first year ended.

Thanks - this all sounds fine.

Based on what you've said you'll be eligible for funding for the duration of the OU course.

Also, you can get a Masters Loan later on so long as you don't already have a Masters.

Hi there,

As courses at the Open university are classed as part time study then you would be eligible for funding for your full course as you are changing your mode of study.
