Withdrawal

Hi so I’m currently just started a pgce with undergraduate funding for maintenance loan and Received my first maintenance loan today.

I no longer want to do this course and want to do a phd instead which I have been accepted onto at another university.

I know you can’t have both applications open at once so I need to withdraw from pgce first. What’s the best way to do this do I inform just student finance yourselves of this and that’s it or does university need to confirm I’ve withdrawn. If so how long does this take and how long is the application for a phd loan now.

Hi there,

If you have received a payment your university will need to send us a Change of Circumstances Withdrawal.

Thanks, Drew

What would the change of circumstances be. Can’t it just be a withdrawal by mutual consent so I can then apply formally on student finance for my doctorate course.

Hi once so once I do the above change of circumstances etc. even though I have been paid for undergraduate course I will onviisly set up a payment plan for this. But would this affect my payment for doctoral course when it starts due to receiving payment. Or will this not affect

Hi there,

This would classed as an overpayment and it can be taken off your future funding or they may ask you to pay it back. The Change of Circumstances is the withdrawal that your previous university will need to send.

Thanks, Drew
