Hi there,

Just to confirm, is this the only time you've had to repeat a year?

Apart from this course, do you have any other previous study at degree-level?

Thanks, Graeme

Hi so basically I started on mechanical engineering and then changed course within like 2 weeks to accounting but I stayed on foundation year so I don’t understand why I can’t get tuition fees for my 2nd year again. Also what I mean by second year is I count it as my foundation year , then 1st year then 2nd year then 3rd year which is final one so I’m resitting my 2nd year and I have never had to resit any years in university before so I’m confused on to why I can’t get tuition fees

Hi there,

Have you submitted your application and have we not awarded the Tuition Fee Loan? Did you get paid for your 1st course before you changed it?

Thanks, Drew

Hi there,

If you had started a previous course and are now repeating a year on your next course you would have already used your additional year of funding and this means you would not be eligible for the Tuition Fee Loan unless you had Compelling Personal Reasons as to why you could not complete one of the years.

Thanks, Drew

Ohh right I see so does that mean I need to pay it my self how would I find out how much I need to pay and also where do I pay this because I’d rather do it in instalments

Hi there,

If you do not have Compelling Personal Reasons then yes you would need to fund it. The Tuition Fee Loan is usually £9250 and you would need to speak to the university in regards to payment of this.

Thanks, Drew

Hi there. We cannot answer this sorry, the University would be able to confirm the cost of this. Thanks, David
