Can I appeal for a year's of study re-calculation

Hi,
I started my course I 2020/2021 with a foundation year in neuroscience did a repeat 2021/2022 then started year 1 with neuroscience and psychology, now apparently this affected my tuition and they said that I couldn't get that years of funding due to going on to a 3 year course and previous years of funding so I take a LOA (which I just found out counts as a year of study) then come back in 2023 and my uni says that my course was wrong and it still should say neuroscience with a foundation year, they didn't tell me that in 2022 so I think they make a mistake, as I tell them I'm on a different course and they still say the same thing but now I've done my 2024/2025 application and i tell them what my uni has said and they said that my uni should have denied SF in 2022 if it was the wrong course but they still change it from 2022 onwards. Can my application be recalculated or does this count for compelling personal reasons.

Hi there,

Do you know if your university has sent us a Change of Circumstances (COC) confirming that you were always on the same course initially? Have they done this just recently?

Thanks, Graeme

Hi,

They have done this recently but it was ment to be done in 2022 when it happened, I didn't get anything from my uni to indicate that my application was wrong till start of my first year 2023 but since I didn't get one in 2022 I thought I had a proper course change and told them as such but now it seems that from the start since I did neuroscience with a foundation year it didn't matter and I was still entitled to the years of study I previously was so I would still have been funded for all my study years
