Tesco Rejected Before Application Deadline

Are Tesco known for rejecting someone from a job before the application deadline has passed as I applied for a job stacking shelf’s within my local store and was rejected within 48 hours despite having what I thought was a very good application and being very overqualified.
Sadly, many establishments do this, especially if your application was for part time work. From personal experience (of applying for multiple jobs per week for the last 6 months, mostly with no reply), I understand that a rejection with no explanation or suggestions to make a future application can be incredibly frustrating. My only advice would have to be, unfortunately, continue to apply for jobs. Even ones you believe you are "overqualified" for. May I ask if the role you applied for was part time, and if you've ever applied for a Tesco role before? The company are renowned for only accepting colleagues after 3+ applications. I hope this helps in some way, and good luck in your job search.

Yep, it was a part time role (18.25 hrs a week) and this was my 2nd application with tesco, the first was also rejected. Ive decided to put an application in to morrisons in the next town down the road as thats the only other thing I can see in the distance I can travel within just now and hopefully something else with the tesco in my town comes up soon, even if its a xmas temp job. Question for you, do you think its just because I not applied for enough jobs at tesco or do you think its something within my application, as I would prefer not to make that mistake again if its the latter. There is also a supervisor in the store I applied to who seems to have something against my mum, could she of had a say and thats a reason why ive had a 2nd rejection?

They don't have to wait until the job application deadline is closed to start conducting interviews and also a lot of people get rejected at the application process.

Don't worry about being to over qualified for working in Tesco filling shelves...... It's probably just your application form wasn't good enough on this occasion 😔 😔 😔.

Suggest you keep trying for a job for Tesco and obviously all the other retailers as well.
Sometimes you can be lucky to be picked on first attempt of applying but again it might take another one or two before they decide to other you a interview and then hopefully a job offer.

I got a job with Tesco at first time of asking but that was a good few years ago when you were able to walk in the shop and ask for a application form and get a interview slot at same time. Unlike today's systems that you have to do it online with application process, then online assessments and then hopefully a interview and then wait until you hear if you got a job.

I started full-time and I'm currently working part-time due to my main full-time job that I do now.
