PHD funding
So i applied late and couldn’t the scholarships are closed now so couldn’t secure scholarship for my PHD program. I am planning to fund the first year by myself. My question is how likely is it that I can secure funding from 2nd year?

I would check if by starting the course self funded whether this may limit you in some of the funding sources - I thought I saw somewhere that some funding is only available if you haven't started the doctorate yet?
It may be worth considering whether to take a year out and reapply to secure a funded spot. A friend of mine did this in the end, rather than take up an self funded PhD with uncertain funding future (also in his field doing an self funded PhD has some stigma attached to it for continuing in academia which he is aiming to do so he was only aiming to do a PhD if he could get it funded).
