Durham accommodation mishap

Hi there,

I’ve managed to miss out on living within my college during my 1st year starting this September, as part of St Cuthbert’s . Oops :frown:

I was just wondering if anyone was in a similar situation and was looking for other people to split a flat/ home-share with?

Or similarly just had a room available in a pre-existing uni house.

Hi, I'm in the same situation, I've just recieved an email saying I won't be staying in Grey college so now I need to find roomates to possibly share a house or something idk very stressed

same here, very rough. I’ve signed up to be put in contact with other people next couple of days though so I can hopefully be part of a flat which I guess is the only other thing to do.

I’m really sorry you have to deal with that, sounds like a total nightmare. Durhams admin is horrendous. Really makes me reconsider if it’s even worth it. I got a room at Rushford plaza and was ****ed to see the cost but reading what you’re dealing with is making me feel better about my own situation. Good luck!

A lot of the Letting Agencies are now renting individual rooms within shared houses (usually other Freshers) so you don't have to have a ready-made group of other students. I went in person today and asked what was available but if you look online you will find houses where this is possible or just ring up and ask.
I wouldn't wait for the university to get back to you with other students' contact details given how inefficient it's been so far...

Have you found anywhere yet?
My son is assigned to St Mary’s and just been told he has no room. If you are still looking for accommodation perhaps you can get together to find somewhere?
