Id say roughly 2 weeks worth of clothes. Mostly casual stuff, but a couple nicer things for one off events, and some stuff you don’t mind getting battered, and perhaps some fancy dress stuff if you have it.

Hello!

As you live so close and are unsure of what to bring I would recommend bringing the outfits you wear on a daily basis. If you are staying in student accommodation, there is a small double wardrobe and a large drawer underneath your bed. The university dress code is casual and you can be yourself. The essentials are just a coat, jumpers, typical outfits, pyjamas and anything else you may wear. As you live so close you can easily change out your outfits whenever you wish!

Anymore specific questions or things you need clarifying please let me know!

Best wishes,

Hi @charmaine.d

This will be my third year of moving back to uni so I think I have quite good experience in packing, and knowing what is needed and what is not. I would say for essentials like socks, you should bring enough for about 2 weeks to give you enough time to do your washing. Then, based on what you usually wear, I would mainly bring your everyday wear whether it is jeans, joggers, hoodies etc. Then for the weather, I would bring a couple of jumpers or hoodies, as well as a coat. I also usually wear a scarf, hat and gloves in the winter when it's really cold, so if you also do so, I would bring one of each. I also would bring one outfit which is occasion wear for if you attend any winter or summer balls, or go to a fancy dinner with certain societies. Since you're only 45 mins away from home, I would say that you could probably switch out a few things when it gets to spring and it gets a bit warmer.

Hope this helps!

thanks for all the help !!!!! i was packing and realised that i had a ton of jumpers so i separated them into autumn/winter/spring and it's helped soso much !!!!

but generally i'm going off the 2 weeks mark since i don't think i'll do washing more frequently than that ..... i'm sure i'll also find more clothes i might want whilst shopping as well so i can always bring stuff back home if theres not enough space !!!

If you’re living in halls, you probably won’t have a huge amount of space as well - and you’ll definitely pick up loads of stuff throughout the year.

Generally after first you get more cupboard/storage space if you move into a student house.

Hi!
I would recommend taking the outfits you wear on a day to day basis, plus a clothes you may need for specific scenarios such as sports clubs and nights out. This is likely all you will need and since you live close to the university you will be able to go back for anything you forget.
Hope this helps! Faye 🙂
