biomedical vs mechanical engineering

Im currently in year 13 and have predicted grades of ABB and would prefer to study mechanical engineering but have biomedical as my 2nd choice. Does anyone know if the biomedical engineering course is as competitive as a mechanical engineering seeing as my predicted grades arent the best and would rather go to a good uni studying biomedical rather than a bad uni studying mechanical.

Hi @hideous-spokesma

Both mechanical engineering and biomedical engineering can be competitive fields, but their competitiveness can vary by university and specific program. Generally, mechanical engineering is a well-established discipline with a large number of applicants, which can make it quite competitive. Biomedical engineering, while growing in popularity, might have different entry requirements depending on the institution.
