Y13 with no GCSE equivalent applying to University

I was studying towards a US high school diploma but did 3/4 the years and had to leave due to extenuating circumstances. I don’t have a US high school diploma for that reason, so I don’t have a GCSE equivalent qualification.

I’m currently in Y13 doing A-levels and will apply to UCL, warwick, Edinburgh, Oxford, and Durham as a home student for PPE.

Does my lack do GCSE equivalent put me at a disadvantage? How can I provide my grades from internal exams I took and GPA from the years of high school I did undertake. UCAS only has ‘pending’ or ‘achieved status for US high school diploma, but mine is incomplete.
Should I sit GCSEs English and Maths and apply with my predictions?

Please help!!

Unis are used to applicants in this position - either because they were not able to take GCSEs or there is no equivalent qualification in their country. Ask your UCAS referee to explain in the reference that you switched countries/exam systems etc.

Usually, if there are specific GCSEs required such as Maths they will just want evidence of your Maths skills from your A levels etc, and if you dont have/not taking an English Language qualification they may ask for IELTS or similar.

If you are now at a UK school/college and you need GCSE Maths/English they may allow you to take them alongside your A levels. Just ask the school.
