I need a news app/ source like TikTok but not it (to avoid doom scroll)

I uninstalled the app because I was getting too lost into it, and now I found that I didn't miss the scrolling but the news source of it?? Is there something similar that I can use without the meaningless videos of people lipsynching or their pets? For eg NewsDaddy or what his username was with 10m followers was amazing. Anything similar but not on TikTok?
In what world would tiktok be considered a "news source"? I mean even the Daily Mail in principle has to follow certain journalistic guidelines, tiktok has none of that and is just a bunch of people making stuff up constantly.

Perhaps consider reading from an actual reputable news source e.g. the BBC, Al Jazeera, Reuters, The Guardian, etc...?

Wholeheartedly agree with the other reply. Grow up. Fix your attention span. Consume long form news to actually learn about the world. Tiktok is not a news source, and it is depressing and frankly sickening to hear that Tiktok is the window into the world for young people these days.

just follow whatever accounts you're interested and use 'following' instead of the main fyp
BBC News can also be downloaded as an app on your phone for free and is definitely a reputable source for news.
