personal statement essay comps

is it worth mentioning or writing about essay comps you've completed in your personal statement even though you didn't win or get shortlisted/commended for any of them?

Hope you're well.

I'd consider making reference to them if you can evidence that they provided you with the relevant skills you might need for the course you're going to apply for.

If you can show that they've really helped you become more (for example) resilient, independent, better with time management, by participating in the competitions then for sure try make a reference to them.
