Should I complete CFA level 1 in my last year of university

I am about to go into my last year of university studying economics. My goal is to go into the buyside as an analyst, with going to a hedge fund being my overall goal. I am wondering if I should complete CFA level 1 this year to help with my chances of getting an off-cycle internship (or some sort of experience) after university (as applications start no I will obviously not have completed the exam while I'm applying but I will be working towards it). I have also considered doing the FMVA certificate as it will be less time consuming in my final year but I have read that this certification can often be pointless as it is not highly regarded, but not sure.

So I am wondering if anyone has any advice on which direction I should go. I have also thought about possibly doing a masters in finance but think I would prefer to go straight into work rather that doing more education.

any responses will be greatly appreciated
Highly recommend this article (yes its about MBA vs CFA, but it still has relevant info for your question) https://www.canarywharfian.co.uk/articles/507/mba-vs-cfa

really good read, thank you. I think I am not going to do a masters (at least straight away). I will definitely do the cfa I am just not sure if I should do it in my final year over the FMVA.
