Applying to Warwick For Accounting and Finance while studying PPE at KCL

Hello I will be studying PPE at King’s this September, but I really prefer a quantitative subject at a target school for finance, so I’m reapplying ucas for A&F at Warwick. I currently have 2A*2A for my A levels (Maths, Politics, Economics, and Further Maths respectively). What are my chances of getting in and is there anything I can do better at this stage? Thanks for your time! (I chose a subject kinda randomly because I wanted to focus on exams, which turned out to be an awful idea)

If you have those grades look at econ at Warwick not a&f. I do a&f and it’s alright but it’s not as quantitative as i thought it would be.

I’ve been looking at that but Econ at Warwick needs TMUA and I’m not sure if I can do well at that.

Thanks for the response! How are you finding it so far? Does the school help you with a financial career and is the support in terms of careers good?

I’m in my 3rd year and I’ve enjoyed it for the most part. The degree isn’t as challenging one would expect if the time is put into understanding content. Careers wise the business school is very good, they have a lot of services to help students find internships, placements etc. and there’s opportunity to meet individually with them to discuss what you want to do. I’d say that from what I know of other unis from what my friends have told me, WBS has some of the best careers services available.

hey based off your experience applying and get in, what do you think are the most important elements of your application.
i know that the grades right now are A*AA with A in maths, but if u had A*AB would you be rejected easily or could you still get in, also could you still get in if you were predicted a B in maths or got a B in maths

I’m almost certain that an A predicted for Maths is a non-negotiable so a B won’t cut it. But as for the A*AB with an A or higher in maths… maybe you can get in? If you qualify for a contextual offer then yeah 100% you can get in, but I think A in maths is still needed. Without a contextual offer I’m really not sure but going off looking at offer trackers from my year (2022) I doubt it because virtually all offer holders have A*AA, and most have multiple A*s.
Basically:

A*AA - can get offer

A*A*B - can get offer because the extra A* makes up the UCAS points (B can’t be maths)

AAA - can get a contextual offer if you qualify

A*AB - can get a contextual offer if you qualify

I think. So don’t quote me on any of this. But hopefully this helps
