Bio a must for dentistry?

Hi my son is in yr 12. His chosen A level subjects are Maths, chemistry, economy and AS Business.
He has changed his mind and is thinking about studying Dentistry. Is Bio necessary if he wants to study Dentistry? He has had excellent GCSE grades had 9's, 8's and 7's* .

Hi, regardless of how good the GCSE grades are (although very helpful when applying) your son would have to do bio as for dentistry bio and chem are a must and for the third option, you are limited to maths/physics (however some uni's accept psychology). So your son should switch economy or business to bio. Just as advice as I had done bio, chem and physics doing 4 A levels including bio and chem is a bit ambitious in my opinion regarding workload and difficulty in 2nd year but if your son is up to it then go for it. FYI your son will also have to do the UCAT (a separate test) when applying for dentistry/medicine.
