UCAS uni choices, admission chance question's

Hi, I'm not sure what to say so I'll just list some information.

I'm currently S6 and I'm planning to apply to Edinburgh, Strathclyde and glasgow for their mechanical/aero engineering programs, but I'm missing the higher physics A. Ive not done physics previously but I'm crashing H physics right now.

My grades from higher in S5 were
maths A
business A
mandarin simplified A
B in computing and C in English.

My relevent subjects this year is AH computing science, maths, H chemistry and physics.

I'm doing my uni choices right now, and I've emailed some universities and they've told me their courses are usually oversubbed/competitive. My question really, Is that if I get an A in physics is there a high likelyhood that I will be considered? Can I also request any advice you all have?

Sorry if this just has no structure, to be honest I don't know how this all works.

Honestly, maybe? A lot of Glasgow, strath and Edinburgh candidates end up having an A at Adv even though it’s not required. Only reason I’m not applying for engineering is coz i can’t have another year of physics lols
