QS ranking

Hi everyone
I'm planning to pursue my master's in the UK.
I've limited options available. My question is whether the QS ranking of a university matters?

There's a university that suits my overall interest and financial criteria but has a QS ranking around 1200. (The other awards and ranking of the university is good tho)

The other university has good research facilities, QS ranking around 600-700 but I'm quite sceptical about the course curriculum.

I just need a second opinion as to know which one i should move forward with?

I personally think rankings are quite important because they are survey based usually taking into account current student's experiences course structure facilities quality of life in the city etc. however. i have chosen both my undergrad and masters based on The Guardian's rankings because they let you filter based on subject. for example a course that i want to do may be a rlly great speciality for a university that doesnt do so well in the overall rankings. so yes take into rankings always they are very important, but tailor it to your specific subject. the guardians 2025 guide is a great source for that!

To the companies and with an overall perspective

Companies couldn't care less where you studied. They only care about what you can do and what you know. Also, company recruiters have better things to do than keep abreast of university ranking tables. I think students forget that whereas in education, all you need to do to get to the next stage of education is pass an exam. Employers however, care less about exams and more about whether you can actually do the job. So a degree from a supposed rubbish university, but with a year in industry trumps a 1st class Oxbridge grad any day because that candidate brings 1 year of proven experience.
