Applying to Hills Road

I’m applying to hills road sixth form for 2025 school year as I’m now in year 11. I want to study Physics, chemistry and biology there. Is it a private school and does it accept students from far away? I live 3 and a half hours away and I want to move there with my friend who also wants to study the same subjects as me. Do they accept students who live by themselves? And do you have any advice on studying these subjects there?

It’s not a private school.
They do accept out of area applicants to my knowledge however if theyre oversubscribed you get priority if you’ve got to a local secondary or if you live closer so bare that in mind (although they also factor in references and applicant scores).
Im unsure about whether they allow students who are living alone, they do reference in their admissions policy that students live with a parent or carer. I would suggest emailing someone in their admissions team to see if this is viable. In their admissions policy they also have quite specific rules about students moving into the area so check that out to see if it will be a viable option for you 🙂
