If they ended it, you’re on the back foot as they don’t want you anymore. Dating someone rather more attractive than them, if you can pull it off, might help your self esteem

Don't aim to make your ex jealous. Aim to forget all about them (while learning what lessons you can from the whole ordeal) and move on. Get your revenge by living happily and well - not to make them feel bad, but just for yourself.
