hello, i'm a y12 student hoping to eventually wind up studying cs at icl / cambridge
my gcse results are very average, and i did worse than i expected & i'd like some advice on whether i should retake certain subjects or what i can do to boost my applications for the future
my gcse grades are :
eng lang : 7
eng lit : 5
maths : 7
bio : 7
chem : 8
comp sci : 6
geo : 7
rs : 7
physics : 7
spanish : 5
and im currently taking maths, fm, comp and chem at a-level

You're grades aren't strong but wouldn't be a major problem as you got 7s in English Language and Maths. A-Level predicted grades matter much more as far as I know.

What are your likely A level grades?
Have you looked at the entry requirements for CS?

They would've started A-Levels a couple of days ago so it would be hard for them to know, surely?

Aiming at Cambridge seems a bit daft if you don't have any idea about this.

Yeah that’s true. Just might be a bit difficult to predict what you’ll get - but assuming they’re aiming for Imperial and Cambridge, then they must be aiming fairly highly.

Apply for a summer school programme there maybe they’ll give you a reduced offer or widening participation thing. Ik they have a widening participation scheme I think it’s something to do with the summer school
