Great questions! Generally, the format of exams at ULaw depends on your specific course and module so...
1.Do I need to be on campus for written exams?
No, written exams are typically taken online and are remotely invigilated, meaning you must have your camera on while being monitored. Some modules may require in-person exams, so check your course details.
2.What if there isn’t a campus nearby for an in-person exam?
If a module requires you to attend an exam in person, but travel is difficult, you can request alternative arrangements. Contact the student support team via the ULaw platform at least three weeks in advance, as per university policy.
3.How are online exams monitored?
Online exams such as 'Tort' or 'Criminal Law' require you to have your camera on, and an invigilator will monitor you in a virtual exam room. However there is no need to be worried, normally there is minimal interaction with the invigilators besides the exchange of pleasantries at the start and end.
4.How are coursework-based assessments submitted? (these are different to live-online exams)
Coursework assessments are usually open-book and must be submitted online via ELITE within the given deadline (e.g. two weeks).
