How possible is it to get DDM

I'm in Year 13 and take a BTEC Applied Science course and I need a DDM for Uni, however I need 119 points to achieve a DDM. Could someone tell me how possible that could be?
Depends on how much work you do doesn't it.

How did you establish that you need 119 points for a DDM? For a DDM you need 196 points (see screenshot below, taken from the Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Applied Science specification, here.

Or do you mean you need 119 more points, in addition to the points you gained during Year 12?

How many units do you have left to take? Do you know which units those are? For each of Unit 5 (Principles and Applications of Science II) and Unit 7 (Contemporary Issues in Science) - which I'm guessing you'll be taking in Year 13 - you could get 32 points. Those 64 points for make a real dent in the 119 points you need.

Have I guessed right in terms of these being two of the units you'll be doing in Year 13? What other units will you be doing? Perhaps Unit 6 (Investigative Project), worth 24 points for a distinction. What else?

Hi there, thanks. I need 119 more points in addition to the ones I already have. I'll be doing Units 5, 7 and 6 like you mentioned, alongside Unit 9 in Human Regulation and Reproduction, Unit 15 in Electronics, Unit 21 in Medical Physics and Unit 23 in Forensic Evidence Collection and Analysis

Thanks. Units 9, 15, 21 and 23 are each worth a maximum of 16 points - if you get a distinction. So, added to the 88 points you could get for distinctions in units 5, 6, and 7, that's a maximum of 88 + 64 = 152 points you could get for this year. You only need 119. So DDM is clearly achievable.

In fact, you could get away with just scraping a merit in those larger units (5, 6 and 7) as long as you got distinctions in the smaller ones (9, 15, 21 and 23).

So, turning your question back on yourself: based on you experience last year, are those grades achievable?

Thanks so much for this, youve made me feel a lot less stressed. I think I could get a DDM then
