is learndirect access to HE legit?

i just started one of their courses and i then checked reviews

some of them say they are awful and how its so hard with little to no support, and the certificates come in extremely late

But they are all pretty old from 2-5 years ago, so if anyone had any recent experiences with them or actually got into uni with them, that would help thanks

Yes, they are legit. My only complaint is change of awarding body and therefore syllabus part way through my course (this won't happen to you now)..Oh, and marking now seems to take a week, unless you pay to have an assignment marked in 24 hours. I think that is very unfair.
People do moan about little 'support' but it appears with most of them it's the fact they have to self study and not just use the provided materials. Which is how it is meant to be!
Legit, like its accredited and you can go to uni with it, but its awful. I have had a bad experience with them. I hate their company to the guts. Had to pay out like the entire access course, even though i stopped after 2 weeks.

I can justify this rage, the computer science course full of spelling errors. Not really any support. Nah. Why am i paying outright for this qualification just to have no support, a course im paying for with like millions of spelling and grammatical questions?

Its a bit scary paying all this money out to a company for a qualification just for the course to be complete ass.

Hounded with threats of like getting debt collectors on me. had to shell out loads of money.

Hello, I've taught on Access to HE programs for over 10 years.

Clear signs that a course is legit online is that it is has a UK registered Awarding Body, Open Awards do programs for the North West for instance. If you are ever unsure you can check with Ofqual.

I can't comment on this provider, but online programs do have a higher rate of drop outs than on site Access to HE programs in F.E colleges. The latter typically have tutorials offering academic support and help with UCAS applications.

Some providers (not a comment on this one mentioned) will enrol people without checking their level 2 qualifications will get them onto the University program they want to progress onto. For instance they will be enrolled on Access without level 2 english and maths which are essential for something like Nursing. This means that when you do Access you might need to do the GCSE's afterwards (its much better doing the GCSE's first)
