Am I wrong for loving a hobby?

I absolutely love gaming its been such a good escape for me for YEARS and I've been interested in it for so long. But mum dislikes that I game. She thinks it's a waste of time as I am almost 23 and that I should be seeing my friends in person like 'anyone normal' but honestly I've 2 main friends and one moved away so us gaming is spending time together. But also I find gaming really fun! It's like going out for a drink, I have just as much fun if not more! Also also there is a sexist side to it where my mum doesn't see how I should be playing games anyway because I am a girl.... should I find other hobbies? Or am I okay?

Nothing wrong with it as long as it's not getting in the way of your responsibilities. I love gaming too but there has to be a balance between work, play and social. That being said, if gaming is all you do then it might be good to find some other hobbies to keep things fresh.

Also nothing wrong with being a girl and playing vidya games. Many chicks do. It's no biggy so just ignore your Mam.

Loving to play games is not a bad thing at all. It is in your responsibility to find a good balance between your hobby and your obligations in everyday life.

I also don't think there is anything bad in playing games. It seems your Mom just worries about social aspect. How much time do you spend out of home? How often do you go somewhere?
I know that gaming world helps you escape, but there are also great and exciting things in real world.
