There are TV hubs in Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, but the industry is currently taking a hammering after a boom during the Covid years, with many freelancers out of work. I'm noticing more jobs in my specialism in London than in Bristol for example. Bristol is also known for being a centre of excellence for Natural History filmmaking, if that's of interest.
Film wise, I understand the industry is doing well, with lots of studios (new stages built near Reading - Shinfield) around London. There is a lot of expertise in the UK that is sought after (and UK workers are cheaper than the heavily unionised US workers!), we speak the same language as Hollywood, and we have tax breaks in the UK which are attractive to overseas film makers.
It depends on what kind of role you're thinking of taking on in terms of office presence, I know of a very few colleagues in production management working remotely, but most teams want some office presence for collaboration (it's hard to collaborate creatively when not in the same room). Also, entry level positions tend to be office runners, which (as their name implies!), needs to be office based.
