Is it true that from year 7 grammar school pupils learn more because the teaching pace is faster than in mainstream secondary schools?
I’ve heard of bright intelligent pupils and their parents complain that they find the pace of teaching often too slow in regular comprehensive schools as teaching has to be done at the pace of the slowest pupil. This is unfair as more talented pupils are held back and that often results in parents having to pay for private tuition, yet grammar pupils get quality education for free. This is unfair especially in places where there are no grammars and I think they should build more grammar schools to help nurture bright pupils from poorer families.
