can someone explain clubbing to me? girl with freshers next week

hi. I don't get clubbing?? But I'm going to have to go so I'm not a social reject as I'm a girl with freshers next week. Can someone give me a rundown on how it works??? I generally dress pretty conservatively and not interested in one night stands (no judgement, it's just not my thing). Last time I danced I dislocated my kneecap. No part of it other than drinking sounds good. What do? how do I dance.

I think it all depends on who you go with! I'm also a girl and I usually go with my friendship circle and bf as a big group. The night usually goes chit chat and pres in a pub, then off to the club. We buy drinks, dance and just have a good time. My first time going clubbing as a fresher I was wearing a turtleneck cause we had just gone for dinner and it was a spontaneous thing so i promise you it isn't a big deal as long as you're comfortable, but it can get a bit hot so you might not wanna wear anything too long sleeved. Me personally, I usually wear some long pants and a tank top/shirt/crop top + a coat or hoodie for when we're outside. The gist is, there is no rundown, just have fun! You can dance however is comfortable for you (my boyfriend literally always does the macarena) and there is never pressure to do one night stands, they're also not my thing, I've rejected every single rando who has made and advance on me at the club. Just make sure to still be cautious and don't let your drinks out of sight.

Thanks! That's helpful
Focus on your uni studies. Don't waste time in clubbing. It is a completely pointless and silly thing to do imo. Don't be a sheep (I am not accusing you of being one). That first in your degree will be worth more than a few pints and laughs
It entirely depends on what sort of club it is. If it is at your student union it will be fairly straightforward, you will either get a ticket in advance on your phone, or you just queue up and pay at the door, where the door staff check your NUS card. There is a bar and seats where people tend to go first for drinks and a dance floor with music which gradually fills up during the course of the evening. At most student bops or clubs the music is usually generic chart music or indie hits from the past few decades. ngl, a lot of student bops can be pretty drunken meat markets and you do get older students trying to prey on freshers sometimes.
If it is a club in a town or city centre it is generally very different. You get a ticket on your phone or if it is a cheaper place pay at the door, but it is usally a specific kind of music and unless it is students only you're mixing in with the general public and a much wider age range and a lot more random people.
