I have good grades but I don't know what to do for my future

From Secondary school I've always had a loose idea of what I wanted to do in the future: Something in the media industry, or more specifically within the film industry.
However, from my experience people have consistently looked down on this path for careers, and to be honest I hadn't thought about any other career paths until recently, and now i'm in a kind of crisis of not knowing what to do.
I never thought I would get great grades so I never had high ambitions for the future, but since getting 3 A*s in Socio, History and Media I've realised I have a lot more open to me, subject-wise but mainly university-wise.

Does anyone have any suggestions for career paths that would be safer than continuing to go with Media and Film? I'm also curious as to whether or not Media and Film would be such a bad route after all.

Hey @l.2trappybro

It's amazing to hear of your grades, but aside from that the main piece of advice I'd give would be to pursue something you're happy with. If that is Media and Film, then so be it. At the end of the day, people can only do so much to shift your perspective and help you to see a different light, and although it may be positive, you may not enjoy a different field so much.

Do you have an interest in any of those individual subjects? If so, you could potentially study them in more depth, but of course that would be extremely specialised since it's a single subject.

I'd try research and see what appeals to you, but if your heart isn't sure or set on something, do go with Media and Film. There will always be people who look down on others, regardless of what choices and paths you go down. The best decision for yourself, is to go with what makes you happy! 😁

Thank you so much for your reply,
I think I will go down the Film and Media route after all.
