Appealing A-Level Grade - Help Please!!

Hello!

I recently got my a level grade from edexcel. I am one mark from the next grade up (and about 30ish marks from the next grade below.) I requested a review of marking and didn’t gain a single mark. I sent my scripts to my head of department, as well as to my tutor who has 20+ years of experience marking for my subject, and they both told me I was marked too harshly/incorrectly against the mark scheme on the same questions (about 5-6 potential marks.) Getting the next grade up would be hugely beneficial to me in the future, but people have mixed reviews on the appeals process.

Did anyone have any experience with this? I am certain my exam board has not marked my papers properly against the mark scheme and this has been confirmed by two very experienced people. What are y’all’s opinions?

If you school feels that strongly about this, then its up to them to take this up with the Exam Board.
Email your Head of Sixth or similar, and ask for their advice/help.

My head of subject is fully in support of my appeal….

Until they spoke with my exam officer who said if the review of marking doesn’t work then I can’t pursue an appeal which is frankly very silly as the appeals are there if the review of marking isn’t successful.

I am left in a dead end. Kinda wish I applied as a private candidate rather than have a centre which I believe isn’t treating me fairly liaise on my behalf
