My son is still waiting to hear from UCL for BA Archeology. He already has his grades and they are slightly below the requirement. He has ABC. I guess it’s good that he hasn’t been rejected already. Anyone have any insights or in a similar position?

That’s amazing!!!! You should be so proud of yourself!

Could you tell me about your application process, the offer grade, what you’re interested in, your subjects and what books you read to learn more about archeology!! I’m considering it but I’m not sure which books would be good to read in order to see if I do enjoy this subject! Thank you xx

Thanks!! My offer grades are A*AA (no pressure!). Sent off my early application in October and received an invitation to online interview and to complete an online exam in December (answering 4 questions with a given source). Both were more about the ability to sustain a thought process and take on new information than specific knowledge.

Currently studying History, French, Geography and Biology, and I'm really interested in prehistory and osteoarchaeology. I didn't read as many books as I thought I had to, but I enjoyed Ancestors by Alice Roberts, A Little History of Archaeology by Brian Fagan and any book on the archaeology of the Franklin Expedition. It's all about exploring your niche interests, I guess!! I liked podcasts like the Ancients, History of the World in 100 Objects and the Explorers Podcast. I also signed up to the CBA, who have regular online lectures and articles.

Hope this helps! All the best x
