Very happy to say I sent off my undergrad UCAS application today!

University of Greenwich - Animation
Univeristy of the Arts London - Animation
University for the Creative Arts - Animation (with Professional Practice Year)
University of Reading - Art and Psychology
University of Lincoln - Animation and Visual Effects

My predicted grades are BCC, unfortunately I was not allowed to get them increased 🙁

Some questions:

What actually happens now that it is sent off? My 6th form team were super vague

When will I be asked to upload portfolios?

When am I asked about choosing my firm/secure choices? I've heard friends mention these

How quickly should I be expecting offers/responses?

Is anyone else applying to the same/similar courses?

Congrats on getting your application in. Each of your unis will review your application and then ask for your portfolio. Some unis could respond quickly, others might take months. Once you receive a portfolio request, you should be given some time complete it in the required format. If you receive all your uni decisions by May, then you have until 4 June to make your firm and insurance decisions. Take your time with this and really think about which course and uni will suit you best (every year we see students who make their firm and insurance decisions very quickly and then regret them).

I’m just waiting on my college to send my application out now. I’m applying for Illustration/Communication Design. The uni’s I’m applying for are Edinburgh College of Art, Arts University Bournemouth, Glasgow School of Art, Leeds Arts University and Nottingham Trent.

I’m currently predicted D*D*D* in my level 3 course

My daughter has applied for Textile Design at Bristol and received an unconditional offer without having to send her portfolio in. Obviously this is great at first glance, but is this a [big] hint that they are not selective about who gets in?

Me too. got told my Comics course is very selective and only a small amount of people can attend the class, but they accepted my offer without bothering with a portfolio.
applied for graphic design for every course.
I applied to Edinburgh, Loughbrough, Staffordshire, Reading and New Buckinghamshire. I got AAC at a levels(on a gap year now)
