From reading their rules and regulations, it would appear not. :frown:

AP13 Student Transfer Policy 2024/25 (PDF) says, "For most courses that support transfers, requests are typically only accepted up until the last date of the course’s or the University’s enrolment period. Courses that have common first years may allow transfer requests to be submitted after this." Pharmacology and Pharmacy don't have a common first year.

Also, the Pharmacy programme specification says, "Entry is at level 4 with A-levels or selected equivalent qualifications (See section D). Transfer to level 5 is possible for students successfully completing the FdSc in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences with modules passed in line with the MPharm variances to Undergraduate Regulations (UR) (exams must be passed as well as the overall module)." If a transfer from Pharmacology Level 5 (Year 2) to Pharmacy Level 4 (Year 1) were permitted, then it seems reasonable to assume that this would have been mentioned in this same section.

The process for changing courses is mentioned in "How do I change my course of study?", on The Hub Student Support Centre. It says, "If you wish to transfer courses within Kingston University you will need authorisation from your current course tutor as well as the new course tutor. " So, if it is allowed, those are the people who would know.

Hi
This is off topic but I want to study pharmacology at uni next year. What has your first year been like? And if you don’t mind me asking, would you switch courses because of the difficulty of pharmacology?

Hello, I wanted to transfer to city university at my second year of Kingston university. I study children's nursing and find it very difficult to commute to Kingston and city is a lot more closer, I was wondering if anyone can give any advice and whether it would be easy to transfer or not? Thank you!

Hi there!

If you are considering transferring, I would recommend getting in contact with your lecturer. They might be able to help or point you in the direction of the accommodation team or if it is possible to transfer this year or having to wait until the next. They will be able to determine within your course if it is too late into the academic year to switch or if it is possible.

I hope this helped!

Do you fulfil the basic criteria for applying to Pharmacy via UCAS? You can just leave your current course and apply for a different one. Do you want to stay at Kingston or are you looking at other pharmacy course as well?

Hi @extraordinary-do

I think checking with lecturers would be the next move in regards to nursing uniform and changing the NHS bursary details. I assume with the uniform that you would do with it what you would do if you graduated on that course.

I have posted a link below that could help you with information about the NHS bursary before you speak to lecturers:

I hope this helped:smile:
