When you say "move up", do you mean from a lower set to a higher set? The rules for set changes will be entirely dependant upon your school. This is therefore a question you need to ask them.

Ask your teacher

They are not give clear answer to me but when I told my friend about it she told me it’s not fair if you can move up 2 or 3 sets (but I came to uk 4 months ago and I did mock exam like normal people so that was not fair for me too). Idk what should I do I’m really confused

Just keep working and trying your best, the school will move you up if you’re working at an ability level above that of your class. If you feel like you need more of a challenge and are constantly doing well in tests or class activities then ask your teachers to move up. The main thing is being able to take the right papers. For maths are you currently doing foundation or higher? What are you aiming to do? Same for subjects like geography/languages if you do them (tiered subjects). For science is your class doing foundation or higher, triple or combined? What do you want to be doing? That’s the main thing to focus on - any idea of grades you’re working at now versus what you need for sixth form or college?

Target grade? That seems to imply it’s what you’re working toward, rather that you’re already at that level. It’s easier to get a 5 on foundation than on higher in terms of boundaries and content i think. If you’re unlikely to get a 6 then stick with foundation
