Hi! Surprised I'm the first here...

1) Computer Science, Mathematics & Further Mathematics, Music Technology.
2) Computer Science, it's been a huge passion for me and I really enjoy it.
3) A2 Predicted Grades: A*A*AB. AS Achieved Grades: AABB. GCSE Achieved Grades: 99999988884.
4) I've visited there before, as a family member went to Loughborough (now graduated), and I really liked it even without seeing that much of the university. Also the general area looks nice.
5) I'm sitting the TMUA next month but I don't think Loughborough requires it for my course, but other unis do.
6) Yes! There is one on Friday I will attend.
7) Excited but also a bit scared about independence.
8) Cambridge, Imperial and Warwick have all been on my radar, but nothing 100% set in stone yet.

Question: (only one for now)
How is student life at Loughborough?

Best of luck!!!

Student life is really enjoyable!! Of course, you get out what you put in, but there's so many different opportunities available - both academically and socially. Let me know if there's anything specific you want me to go into

I got an offer for psychology!

People who are experienced with Loughborough accommodation, would you recommend catered or uncatered?

Congratulations!!

Catered/Self Catered is really up to you. For catered, there's a wide range of food that is offered. You won't have to cook Monday to Friday (if you're in Towers then it's 7 days a week).

There's nothing stopping you from having catered food as a self catered student, and you'll just pay £6.95. I've tried it myself and it's pretty decent.

Self catered is also an option. Hobs are either electric or induction.

If you've got specific questions, I can answer them for you.

Hi there!
Im confident in my ability to get the grades needed for the marketing course, although my predicted grades based on my mock exams don’t exactly reflect this.
1) criminology, biology, psychology and core maths
2) marketing, I incredibly interested in studying marketing further, especially at Loughborough. I really just think marketing is a skill that can help me with my own personal businesses
3) C,C,C,B
4) it’s not 10th in marketing for no reason, also from what I’ve heard the social and sports aspects of the campus are really good, two areas I’m really interested in being apart of.
5)none that I know of
6)I have not attended any opening days
7)quite excited, although a little worried on my chances of being offered placements with my predicted grades.
8)Nottingham and Kingston are some of my choices in this country, although I’m applying to Washington and Seattle abroad
My question is, is it possible for me to still get a conditional offer?, also is marketing competitive? (so when I apply during clearing)

Hi there,

The entry requirements, you may have already seen, are AAB for the BSc Marketing Programme. They are able to consider making reduced, contextual offers under certain circumstances, but you would need to meet the criteria and they can only reduce the entry requirements by up to two grades, so BBB for this course. You may not be able to obtain an offer, but if you do achieve the required entry grades then Clearing might be an option. On the downside, it is hard to say whether this course would have spaces in Clearing as the Loughborough Business School receives a high number of applications.

I would recommend that you email the Undergraduate Admissions Team at [email protected] and ask for advice.

I hope this information is helpful.
All the best, Imogen

Does Loughborough consider disability as a qualifier for a contextual offer? If so what is a typical grade reduction?

Hi

You can have a look here about the criteria for contextual offers. If you need more specific information, it would be worth e-mailing [email protected] and explaining your specific circumstances.

Hope this helps

Hi, how do you apply for undergraduate scholarships at Loughborough? Do they send you an email telling you you can apply after receiving an offer or is there a link to go to?

What kind of activities are done during the design offer holder days?

I'm not sure but I am going to one. Which date are you going to and what course did you apply for?

Morning - we’re awaiting the outcome of my daughter’s architecture interview. A little frustrating (though I appreciate the deadline for an answer hasn’t yet passed). She has her heart set on Loughborough.

Does it take longer to hear if it’ll be a negative response? It seems others have already heard back.
Thanks

No news is good news.

The team will try their best to get back to her this side of easter, but I can see quite a few colleagues have taken annual leave (and the university will be closed from Good Friday and will open again the following Wednesday), so it's not guaranteed.

They'll get back to her as soon as they can

Thank you!

Sitting as tight as we can - when others who interviewed after us have offers it’s so nerve wracking.

I have a question I have an offer from Loughborough for mechanical engineering, which was the course i wanted to do but yesterday, during clearing I got an offer from Bristol as well for mechanical and electrical engineering. i never heard about this course until yesterday and dont know what I should do. Bristol was going to be my firm choice before I picked another university so I am happy about the uni but I am not sure if this course is worth it. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
Loughborough is also a good university so I am really confused
