not feeling good enough at my job

I use to work in a well known company briefly. They made changes and I lost my job there. I recently started a new position somewhere else.

I feel a lot of pressure in my new job. People just expect me to know everything because I worked in a well known company. I don't feel I have enough experience for this job.

I think they just picked me for the role because of my previous job

I don't know what to do? :frown:

advice?

It's understandable to feel pressure in a new role, especially when people have high expectations due to your previous job. You’re in a situation where assumptions about your background may create added pressure, but that doesn't mean you're not capable of succeeding.
First, acknowledge that starting a new job can be a steep learning curve for anyone, regardless of experience. It’s okay to not know everything from the start. Identify the gaps in your knowledge and prioritize learning those areas. Break down your tasks into manageable parts and focus on improving one thing at a time.
Next, communicate openly with your team or supervisor about your learning process. They may assume you know things based on your past role, but transparency can help set realistic expectations. Let them know where you're comfortable and where you're still growing. Many employers appreciate honesty and will offer the support you need if you ask for it.
Seek out mentorship or ask colleagues for guidance. Building relationships within the team can provide you with a support system and help you feel more integrated and confident in your role.
Lastly, be kind to yourself. You were chosen for this role for a reason, and while it may feel overwhelming now, it's part of your growth. Give yourself time to adjust, and trust that you’re capable of rising to the challenge. Confidence builds over time, and every step forward is progress.
